PTM Sunish, Managing Director honoured at the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya (kerala) Divas, 2012

The capital of the State kicked off the 10th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya (Kerala) Divas on 9th January 2012 at Gandhi Park, Eastfort. The function was inaugurated by Mr. N. Shaktan, Hon. Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.

The three day celebration of the Divas witnessed many interactive discussions, seminar and arts & cultural Programmes. 11th January 2012 marked the closing day of the celebrations. The day also held the prestigious award distribution to honour various personalities from the diverse field for their productive contribution to the advancement of the society.

PTM. Sunish, Managing Director, The Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation Ltd. was honoured with the Udyog Patra Award during the Award Distribution Ceremony. MLA K. Muraleedharan, Cinestar Sukumari, Hollywood Director Sohan Roy were among the other recipients of the award. 

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated in India on 9 January each year to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community to the development of India. The day commemorates the arrival of Mahatma Gandhi in India from South Africa. Established in 2003, it is sponsored by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs of the Government of India, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region of India.
