KSWDC's Vocational Training Programme inaugurated at kalamassery

KSWDC's Vocational Training Programme in association with Apparel Training and Design Centre and various central corporations was inaugurated at ATDC centre Kalamassery, Ernakulam on 19 nov. 2011.

Hon'ble Minister for Works Sri. V. K. Ibrahim Kunju inaugurated the programme. In his speech he said that empowerment of women is vital in ensuring the progress of the society. He added that such initiatives would help in providing financial security to women.

The function was presided by Jamal Manakkadan, Chairman of Kalamassery Municipality. Managing Director, PTM Sunish also assured the sincere efforts of the Corporation for the progress of women in his speech.

The duration of the training programme is 45 days. 1000+ women are expected to receive training on embroidery and surface ornamentation and sewing machine operation.

The motive of these kind of short courses is to empower women with less education or basic education without any professional qualifications. The corporation believes that such courses would make women economically strong and thus empower them.
